Thanks to Taking on a World of Words for hosting this weekly blog hop where readers come together to share what they’ve been reading and want to read in the future. It’s easy to join in by dropping by her page and leaving a comment with your link or just your thoughts 🙂

What am I currently reading?

I just received Kara Isaac’s Can’t Help Falling and I’m about to read it TODAY. Can’t wait.

Second book gift I received called Let the Waters Hold me Down, a book written by my former college English professor. Also, the friend who gifted it got it SIGNED FOR ME! Soooooooo cool.

What have I finished reading?

The Land Uncharted: #1 in the Land Uncharted series. Very good, very strange historical romance that threw me for a loop because I didn’t read the synopsis. Most of the time I like to know what I’m getting into. However, I’m glad I didn’t read the synopsis this time.

A Time to Rise: Book #3 in the Out of Time series:

I finally finished this awesome series and I have to say, it was well done. A slightly different ending than I predicted. The middle book of the trilogy was more action-packed but this story did well in tying up all of the plot loose ends, etc.

I picked up  Waterfalls by Robin Jones Gunn at a thrift store because I love this author. Recently finished this one in November. Thought I’d give her NA romance books a try since I’ve only read YA books by her. Cute book, kind of light on the romance though and more family-relations oriented.

I also finished Aboard Providence. Delightful book! It’s a historical romance…with a twist…it’s difficult to explain. It was very heartwarming!

And, I finished a YA time travel romance called TImebound. It’s equally a teen romance as it is a time travel, and I know you’ll think I’m crazy (if you’ve followed me long enough you know I love my romance, but I wish there were more action and less teen romance/drama etc.

I also finished up a contemporary romance called The Substitute and a historical romance novella called Out of the storm. Both cute and romantic of course. The Substitute was risque for my tastes, but well-written otherwise…

On this special edition of WWW Wednesday, here’s my 2017 TBR shortlist.

And seriously, I do mean SHORTLIST. My TBR list, according to Amazon, which is the easiest place for me to keep track of books I want to read, consists of  93 and that’s not including my Goodreads list, but it’s more accurate. (I really should go to the library more to search out some of those books, you think? lol)

#1. A Love Like Ours (A Porter Family Novel Book #3) by Becky Wade.

I’ve read the first 2 in this series AND the 4th one if you can believe that lol

#2. Valor’s Vigil, Part 8 of the Virtues and Valor Series by Hallee Bridgeman:

Why have I still not read this yet??

#3 Mirage (Tru Exceptions – Christian Romantic Suspense, Book 2) by Amanda Tru

Amanda is fast becoming a dear friend of mine. If only we lived a whole lost closer!

#4 Books 2-4 of the Song of Suspense Series by Hallee Bridgeman:

Because she’s awesome and the first book was awesome. Her 4th just released and I’ve heard nothing but wonderful reviews about it.

There you have it, my TBR shortlist. If I read nothing but these books next year, I’ll be a happy, happy reader. There are loads of others, but these are the first I’ll buy or ask for 🙂

What do YOU want to read in 2017??

  1. I adore signed books! I have a shelf dedicated to them and I don’t let ANYONE borrow them, haha. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

    1. I’ve only had 2 books signed. One I don’t know if I still had b/c it’s a non-fiction journalistic story and we have moved so many times I don’t know if I kept it. But that’s a cool idea, separating them 🙂
