If you’re unfamiliar with WIPpet Wednesday, it’s a great weekly meme hosted by Emily Witt where authors can share excerpts from Works in Progress. I have greatly enjoyed reading others’ WIPs and getting to know other authors’ stories.

Today, I have a section from my 2nd Manuscript.

4 / 6 = 6 sentences

Context: This is from Joel’ls POV. Serena came over for a visit, and they were waiting for Lacey to get out of the shower. Poor Joel, trying to figure out how to talk to the girl he likes…lol. This excerpt is really more of a visual description of Serena.

Serena rose and moved toward the hallway. She stopped after three steps and glanced back at Joel.

“I’m not trying to ditch you…I…”

“Don’t worry about it,” He waved her off, but found himself watching her walk away, admiring the snug brown boots hugging her jean-clad calves; the same light-brown hue as her skin in the summer, and her eyes in the sunlight, when she dared glance his way.

He tore his gaze away and moved into the kitchen again to check on the brewing coffee.

There you have it. You can link your WIP Wed link in the comments if you wish and I’ll come visit. How are your WIPs coming?
