Romance Book Blast: The Orphan Beach and Sprinkled with Sabotage

I love reading, and I love reading romance novels even more. To celebrate this week after Valentine’s Day and my love of reading, every day this week, I’ve put together some great romance book recs for you all, along with behind the story tidbits straight from the authors!

The Orphan Beach: Flight of Freedom book 3 by Laura Thomas

Life is spiraling out of control for pediatric nurse, Juliet Farr. Heart-broken, grief-stricken, and experiencing a crisis of faith—now she is the prime target for a crazed killer. When her ex-boyfriend, detective Max Bennett, returns to work the case in the Oregon Coast, he knows sharing the truth behind their break-up will destroy any possibility of a second chance together.

A manuscript, a maniac, and a mother’s love propel Juliet’s flight to a beach in Mexico as she desperately pursues hope and healing. Will she ever find freedom from the ache of abandonment? And when a troubled soul chooses Juliet as his perfect victim, can Max prove his love for her by risking his own life? Or will Orphan Beach be the end of their story?

What inspired you to write this story?

Some of the inspiration for this Christian romantic suspense story grew from my memories of Mexico missions trips I experienced years ago. Specific settings, moments, and individuals were imprinted on my heart—especially one particular baby boy, who ended up as a fictional character in The Orphan Beach. I also longed to share Juliet’s story—to see how this feisty nurse would react to devastation and danger in her own life and to explore her faith and her relationship with Max. I finish the book with this Bible verse which spoke to Juliet in her deep loneliness and points to the hope and freedom found in Christ:

“I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.” Jeremiah 29:11

I would love everyone to take away this beautiful truth after reading the story of The Orphan Beach.

Sprinkled with Sabotage: Love and Danger in St. Claire book 3 by Allison Pearl

Lizzy Bennet loves life as a lawyer in the city. And not just because of the miles it puts between her and her ex. However, when she’s attacked on the street just hours after learning her identity was stolen, she tries to call home for help and ends up with the last person she expects: the very same high school boyfriend who broke her heart. He says he’s there to help, but she’s not so sure, and now, all the endless questions and regrets are clouding her judgment and preventing her from seeing the dangerous saboteur closing in.

Small-town auto mechanic, Koby Knightly, is looking forward to seeing a car show in the city. But when an unexpected call from his old girlfriend disconnects suddenly, he rushes to her aid. Throwing his plans out the window, Koby makes it his mission to protect her and discover the identity of the person trying to frame her. Will he also be able to figure out what went wrong between them back in high school or will a killer get to her first?
