This year has been a roller coaster year. Multiple tragedies preceding the release of my debut novel… I never would’ve predicted that combination of events taking place.

This holiday season has been extremely low key for us, which is rather unusual in my opinion. I’ve been sick twice in a month, which is also unusual. Everyone in my immediate family is exhausted, and rightly so. The most important thing to me during the holiday season is family. Being with family is what I love. I love all of the family traditions; baking together, decorating together, eating together, cooking lovely meals, spending time with relatives and in-laws. Regardless of the losses I’ve suffered, I still have most of my family and I cherish them even more.
