Christmas Confusion: by Christina Sinisi
Anaiah Christmas Novella Collection
Release Date: November 22nd, 2019
Synopsis
When Tiffany Marano’s high school sweetheart drove off to join the Marines and never looked back, she swore off men. Now, she’s content to teach at Summer Creek, South Carolina’s local elementary school, lead a Sunday school class, and spend weekends with her niece—until Nick Walsh suddenly reappears wearing a wedding ring and with a daughter in tow. Everything about Tiffany’s calm, quiet life is now one disordered mess.
Nick Walsh comes face to face with Tiffany after all these years, and sparks fly. But not the happy glittering kind, because each of them thinks the other responsible for their estrangement. Before they can work it out, though, Tiffany’s sister disappears. Left with custody of her niece and forced to work with new police detective Nick to find her sister, old feelings begin to resurface. As they start to unravel the truths that left them confused and apart for too long, Nick must learn to let go of his past. But can Tiffany let go of her fear and learn to trust that God isn’t the only one who won’t abandon her?
Thanks for joining me on my blog! Tell me about yourself. Have you ever been published before?
Hi. Thank you, Sara Beth, for having me and thank your readers for viewing. I’ve been writing fiction since 3rd grade, but this is the first piece of fiction I’ll have published. I’ve published over a dozen (I really should get an exact count) professional journal articles in psychology, presented over a hundred (either solely or with my students) conference presentations, and more. But Christmas Confusion is my first novella. Besides being a professor and a writer, I’m a wife of 33 years and a mother of two grown children, Scott and Lindsey. My hobbies are baking and biking, in addition to reading and Netflix semi-binge watching (no more than two, maybe three episodes, a day, I promise).
Same with me! I can’t binge more than two 🙂

What is your favorite Christmas tradition?
It’s really a tie between attending Christmas Eve service and Christmas morning opening the gifts with my family. Both of those events just make me feel so connected with my family and the Lord.
What was the inspiration for this story?
I’m constantly writing and was in the middle of another novel when I saw a call for a Christmas novella by Anaiah Press. I saw the call online on the ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) member email loop on June 9 and the novella was due at the end of the month. I dropped my other writing and wrote the novella in 2 ½ weeks. Now, for the actual story, there’s a sweet young lady at my church and I wanted to give her a happy ending ever after–mind you, the character has only a few of her traits and the rest is totally fiction but she was a great starting point.
What inspires you to pursue this crazy journey of being an author in general?
I can’t stop writing. Even when my day job was keeping me crazy busy (not that it doesn’t now, but it was even worse a couple years ago), if I don’t allow myself to write, a story is going to come pouring out when I get the chance. I love the feeling of creating that story. Plus, I truly believe God has a purpose for my words–maybe sometimes just to make someone feel happy or touched for a few minutes, maybe other times to impact someone’s faith, even if only in a small way.
